UP or DOWN FAQ
1. Is there a time limit for collecting winnings?
There is no time limit for collecting winnings. Users can claim their claimable rewards at any time in the future.
2. What is the payout calculation mechanism for a specific round of "UP or DOWN"?
UP Pool Payout Ratio = Total Value of Both Pools Γ· Value of UP Pool
DOWN Pool Payout Ratio = Total Value of Both Pools Γ· Value of DOWN Pool
Payout Amount(If Win) = Payout Ratio Γ Position Γ (1 - Market Fee)
3. How is a WIN ROUND defined and the win ratio calculated for "UP or DOWN"?
Users can predict both UP and DOWN directions. A winning round is defined as having net profits (excluding fees) equal to or greater than 0, including your correct price prediction rounds, draws, and rounds with no opposing participants. The win ratio is calculated by dividing the number of rounds won by the total number of rounds participated.
4. What are the possible outcomes for each round of "UP or DOWN"?
UP: The closing price is higher than the opening price.
DOWN: The closing price is lower than the opening price.
Draw: The closing price equals the opening price.
N/A: Indicates that the price update or settlement timed out, or there was no counterparty entering, making the round invalid.
5. What is a draw round for "UP or DOWN"?
A draw round occurs under the following conditions:
The close price is equal to the open price.
Your net profit (before deducting fees) is zero.
6. Is there any limitation for the "UP or DOWN" entry amount?
The minimum entry amount for each input and deposit is 0.05 SOL.
You can continue to enter multiple times within a single round, but the total maximum entry amount for an entire round, including both UP and DOWN positions, is capped at 20 SOL.
7. What is the price feed source?
4CAST uses Chainlink as our primary Oracle for price settlement. As the product continues to develop, we will collaborate with more Oracles and introduce additional supported tokens to expand the available pools for users.
8. What is the base token for the crypto price in the "UP or DOWN" display?
The prices of crypto assets available for prediction will be displayed in USD on the front page for a more intuitive user experience, but 4CAST uses USDT/USDC as the base tokens to pull the prices for all crypto assets from Oracles.
9. What if there is no opposing position in games?
If no one enters an opposing position, the current round will not be valid and move to the next, fees are deducted, and the remaining funds will be returned to the user who has joined.
10. Why is there a discrepancy between the price in the price chart and the "open/close price"?
The two prices serve different purposes and come from separate sources. The price chart is for reference only and does not reflect the open and settlement prices. The actual open and settlement price comes from Chainlink Oracle. Due to these differences, discrepancies may occur. You can just use the price chart for reference.
11. Why is there a discrepancy between the close price in the price chart and the settlement result?
At the end of a round, the final settlement price may differ from what was displayed during the round, potentially causing an Up result to change to a Down (or vice versa).
This occurs because we rely on an on-chain oracle for the final price. The oracle updates at regular intervals, for instance, every 5 seconds, creating a delay between rounds. Therefore, the oracle can update just as the new round is starting.
12. What if the open price equals the close price in "UP or DOWN"?
The possibility of this case will be extremely low, however, If the open price and closed price are the same, the round result will be a draw and all funds(excluding fees) in the prize pool will be sent back to the participants.
13. Can I change or remove the position?
Once entered, positions cannot be changed or removed. Please ensure you are satisfied with the entry amount before confirming.
14. Will markets be paused and what should users do?
Markets may pause during Oracle updates or maintenance. Funds can be reclaimed if markets pause during live positions.
15. What should I do if the calculation processing times out?
If times out, there will be no round result coming out and the round will go to the next and restart, the funds in the time-out round will be returned, however, the fees will still be deducted.
16. What is the difference between total winnings and net profit?
Total Winnings are the funds won, excluding your wagers and before fees are deducted. This amount represents only the funds you won, excluding any losses.
Net Profit equals total winnings minus total loss, excluding fees.
17. What is priority fees?
Priority fees in Solana are extra fees users pay to speed up their transactions during high network congestion. To ensure smooth transactions in the game play process, 4CAST optimally decides fee settings and sets a max cap to avoid overpaying.
18. Why is my entry transaction or claim winnings transaction slow?
There are various factors that can impact the efficiency of your transaction:
Network Connection: Ensure your network connection is stable and normal.
Priority Fee Setting: Check that your priority fee setting is appropriate.
Network Congestion: The Solana network might be congested at the time of your transaction.
Please understand that on-chain transactions can occasionally be slow, and we appreciate your patience.
